Cookie policy

Draft to be reviewed. Written from the cookies the site really uses. It must be reviewed by whoever handles the legal side before it is final.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files the site saves in your browser. Some make the site work and count its visits. Others measure with Google Analytics how it is used: those are switched on only if you accept them.

Technical cookies

Always on: they make the site work and measure its visits in aggregate. They are not used to profile you.

• PARAGLIDE_LOCALE: remembers the language you chose. Lasts 400 days.
• cc_cookie: remembers your cookie choice. Lasts 6 months.
• traffic_uuid: BBAnalytics, a visit measurement tool. Counts visits and page views in aggregate. Lasts 400 days.
• session_uuid: not a cookie, BBAnalytics keeps it in the tab's storage (sessionStorage) to recognise the same visit from one page to the next. It lasts until you close the tab.
• _GRECAPTCHA: Google reCAPTCHA, protects the contact form from spam. Google sets it when you send the form. Lasts 6 months.

Statistics cookies

Switched on only if you accept them. They measure visits and page views in aggregate, so we can see what works and improve the site.

• Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*), by Google Ireland Ltd. They last up to 2 years.

How to change your choice

You can change your mind at any time from “Cookie preferences”, at the bottom of every page. If you reject statistics cookies, the ones already saved are deleted. Your choice lasts 6 months, then the site asks again.

You can also delete cookies from your browser settings.
